The Volume of Construction Work in Ukraine Increased by 23% in 2024

Обсяг виконаних будівельних робіт в Україні торік зріс на 23%: відновлення до довоєнних показників можливе через 4-5 років.

According to data from the State Statistics Service, in 2024, the volume of completed construction work in Ukraine increased by 23.5% compared to the previous year, reaching ₴204.7 billion. This figure also surpassed the level of 2020, when it was ₴202 billion, but remains lower than the pre-war 2021 figure of ₴258 billion.

In terms of types of construction, the volume of work in the residential sector grew by 16.3% last year, reaching ₴26.6 billion, in non-residential construction it increased by 35.5% to ₴57.7 billion, and in engineering construction, it rose by 20% to ₴120.4 billion. The share of new construction accounted for 41.1%, repairs for 32.6%, and reconstruction and technical re-equipping for 26.3%.

Prospects for the Recovery of the Construction Market

Experts point out that demand in the Ukrainian construction market remains consistently low. However, with positive growth dynamics, the Ukrainian construction sector has a chance to recover to pre-war levels in approximately 4-5 years.

Growth in Commercial Construction

In the commercial construction market, the most significant growth last year was demonstrated by the hotel real estate segment, which increased by 182%. At the same time, demand for primary residential real estate rose by 12%.
