Strengthening the Air Force and Defense Industry

Zelensky emphasized that the new defense agreements are part of a long-term strategy to create modern and powerful Air Forces capable of ensuring Ukraine’s security for many years to come.

“This is part of our long-term strategy to build a strong Air Force that can guarantee the country’s security for years ahead,”

the president underscored.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation with allies to strengthen the air defense system, provide defense and energy assistance, expand the PURL program, and enhance sanctions policy against the Russian Federation were discussed. Special attention was given to the development of the defense industry: among the main priorities is to increase the share of Ukrainian weapons on the front lines to 50% within the current year.

Establishment of a Joint Venture for the Production of Interceptor Drones

Amid these efforts, the Ukrainian company Bullet and the American AIRO Group Holdings signed a letter of intent to establish a joint venture. Its goal will be to produce high-speed interceptor drones for the needs of the USA, NATO countries, and Ukraine. In terms of technical specifications, the new drones are capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h, have a range of up to 200 km, and can transport payloads weighing between 2.5 to 9 kg. The final signing of the agreement is expected to take place within the next 60 days. The joint venture also plans to engage in the development of next-generation drones, which will significantly enhance the defense potential of both Ukraine and its partners.
