More than 25 leading foreign defense and high-tech companies are already localizing their production in Ukraine. These enterprises are at various stages of implementing their solutions, indicating Ukraine’s growing integration into the global defense technology market.

Leading Players in the Defense Industry
Among the key partners already operating or planning to establish activities in Ukraine are the British company BAE Systems, which is organizing joint production and servicing of L119 howitzers. German Rheinmetall is working on creating repair and production bases for armored vehicles. The Swedish group SAAB has signed agreements for joint production of air defense systems. Also included is the American Northrop Grumman, which has reached agreements to establish ammunition production in collaboration with Ukrainian specialists.
Incorporating Innovative Technologies
In addition to traditional defense manufacturing, companies specializing in unmanned systems, cyber defense, drone countermeasures, and other modern high-tech developments are entering Ukraine. This expands the range of integrated technologies available to the Ukrainian defense industry.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the Build in Ukraine initiative operates as a mutually beneficial model of cooperation.
Partners gain access to production facilities, skilled labor, and testing opportunities, while Ukraine benefits from technology, investment, and the capability to produce key weaponry.
This wave of localization could now serve as a foundation for transforming Ukraine into a regional center for defense technology development in Europe.
