Inflation in Ukraine Reached 15% – New Data for April 2025

Інфляція в Україні перевищила 15% вперше за два роки.

Inflation in the consumer market in Ukraine in April 2025 was 0.7%. Year-on-year, the price increase accelerated to 15.1%, up from 14.6% in March. This information was released by the State Statistics Service.

Prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.8% in April. The most significant price hikes were seen in pork and fruits, which became 7.9% more expensive. At the same time, there was a decrease in prices for eggs, rice, and butter, ranging from 2.5% to 0.2%.

Changes in Prices for Alcohol and Transport

Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 1.3%, attributed to a 2.2% increase in tobacco product prices. Among other goods, transport prices decreased by 0.3%, mainly due to a 2.2% drop in fuel and lubricants. However, fares for road and rail passenger transport increased by 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively.

Future Forecasts

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also provided its forecast, indicating that inflation in Ukraine will remain high at 13.2% in 2025, and will decrease to 7.1% in 2026.
