Solo miner mined a Bitcoin block and received over $340,000 in rewards

Соло-майнер добув блок біткоїна і заробив $350 000

On July 3, 2025, an independent miner with a hardware power of 2.3 PH/s successfully mined Bitcoin block number 903,883, which became the 301st solo block in the network. The reward for this block was 3.173 BTC, which at that time was approximately $340,000.

Details of the block discovery

It is known that the specified block contained 3,949 transactions, and the processing was provided by the mining pool Solo CK Pool. According to CKPool analyst Kon Kolivas, a miner with such power has about a 1 in 2,800 chance of finding a block each day, meaning on average it takes about 8 years to mine one block.

“A miner of this size has about a 1 in 2,800 chance of finding a block each day, which means on average one block every 8 years.”

Individual mining remains relevant

Instances of successful block mining by solo miners are not uncommon, despite the overall dominance of large pools. For example, in June 2025, another solo miner received 3.151 BTC for a mined block. In March of the same year, a solo miner with a hash rate of only 3.3 TH/s also mined a block and received 3.15 BTC, which at that time was approximately $244,500.

Thus, even in the face of high competition in the network, individual miners still have a chance to receive significant rewards for mining Bitcoin.
