Ukraine Received $2.77 Billion from Oil Exports in the First Half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, Ukraine significantly strengthened its position in the global oil market, exporting over 2.4 million tons of sunflower oil. During this period, approximately $2.77 billion was received by the state budget, indicating the high competitiveness of Ukrainian products on the international stage.

Major Importers of Sunflower Oil from Ukraine

The largest buyers of Ukrainian sunflower oil from January to June were Spain, Italy, and India. Spain’s share of the exports was 12.88% (amounting to $356.95 million), Italy’s was 12.18% ($337.49 million), and India’s was 11.77% ($326.07 million). These countries are strategic trading partners of Ukraine in the vegetable oil sector.

Dynamics of Canola and Soybean Oil Exports

At the same time, the export of canola oil showed a significant decline. Compared to the same period in 2024, the volumes of shipments decreased by 72.2%, totaling 19.99 million tons, while revenue dropped by 65.5% to $58.02 million. The main importers of this product were the Netherlands (39.29% of exports, $7.75 million), Germany (21.44%, $4.23 million), and Slovakia (13.13%, $2.591 million).

In contrast, the export of soybean oil from Ukraine sharply increased: shipment volumes rose by 52%, and revenue doubled to $295.03 million. The main buyers were Poland, which purchased 63.97% of total exports for $188.74 million, India (9.02%, $26.62 million), and Germany (4.04%, $11.93 million).

Overall, in the first half of the year, the export of Ukrainian sunflower oil amounted to over 2.4 million tons, with revenue reaching $2.77 billion.
