The New Route Reduces Delivery Times

Thanks to the new route, the delivery of goods from Turkey to Poland now takes only 10 days. This is twice as fast as transportation through Bulgaria or Romania. Future plans include expanding the route’s capabilities by introducing the transportation of semi-trailers on rail platforms as part of intermodal trains, which will open up additional opportunities for freight carriers and promote an increase in transit volumes between Ukraine, Turkey, and EU countries.

Growth in Grain Export Volumes and Changes in Regional Transportation

In November, “Ukrzaliznytsia” significantly increased grain export transportation: in the first 18 days of the month, volumes rose by 40% compared to the same period in October, reaching 1.541 million tons. However, this figure is 8.4% lower than the level of November last year. The majority of the grain—93%—was sent towards the ports.

At the same time, the Lithuanian railway (LTG) has suspended the transit of goods belonging to “Lukoil” and its affiliated companies to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. This decision was made following the implementation of new sanctions by the US and the UK against the Russian oil conglomerate.
