Despite military aggression and a challenging economic situation, the Ukrainian market remains attractive to international retailers. Since 2022, new stores of well-known brands have been actively appearing in the country, indicating the resilience and adaptability of the domestic consumer market.

New Players in the Retail Market
The Polish chain Worldbox is preparing to open its first store in Ukraine. The retail outlet will specialize in clothing and accessories from leading global brands and will be located in the city of Izmail, Odesa region. The store will cover an area of 400 square meters, allowing for a wide range of products to be showcased.
In July 2025, Chernihiv became the site of the first Mavi store in Ukraine, a Turkish brand specializing in denim clothing. The retail space of 328 square meters demonstrates the company’s commitment to expanding in the Ukrainian market, despite the challenging conditions.
Expansion of Well-Known Brands
In May 2025, the Czech candy store chain Captain Candy began operations in Kyiv, offering Ukrainians a wide selection of confectionery products. Earlier in the year, a Karl Lagerfeld Jeans store— a subsidiary line of the famous fashion house Karl Lagerfeld—opened in the capital, adding a new premium segment to the clothing market.
The American footwear brand UGG launched its first flagship store in Kyiv in September 2024. Prior to this, the company was represented only by small sales points in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. This opening was a significant event for Ukrainian fans of the brand.
“At the same time, in November 2023, the Polish retailer of clothing and home goods HalfPrice entered the Ukrainian market, opening a flagship store of over 1,800 square meters in the capital. Currently, there are already six HalfPrice stores operating in Ukraine: three in Kyiv and one each in Odesa, Lviv, and Chernihiv.”
The emergence of new foreign players underscores the confidence of international businesses in the potential of the Ukrainian market even during times of military trials.
