Nova Poshta Launches First Gas Cogeneration Plant for Energy Independence

Українська приватна логістична компанія запустила першу газову когенераційну установку для підвищення енергонезалежності: на черзі – ще шість об’єктів.

The Ukrainian private logistics company «Nova Poshta» has successfully launched its first gas piston cogeneration plant with a capacity of 1 MW at its hub in western Ukraine. This step is part of the company’s strategy to enhance its energy independence, as plans are already in place to install six more similar plants.

It is noted that some of the new plants are planned to be launched by the end of the year, particularly at facilities in Kyiv. In addition to gas generation, «Nova Poshta» has already implemented two projects for the construction of solar power plants and is currently preparing to introduce energy storage systems with a total capacity of 4.8 MWh at three of its facilities.

The subsidiary company «Nova Energy» plans to launch its first energy storage installation in the summer. The combination of different power sources will allow the company to ensure operational stability, which is particularly important in the face of modern challenges.

«Nova Poshta» has already invested a total of ₴300 million in energy autonomy.

According to plans, the company aims to achieve energy independence by the end of 2025. To do this, it is necessary to build a minimum of 11.3 MW of generation, which will require approximately $10.7 million in investments.
