The General Director of the Defense Division of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Ihor Fomenko, reported that several options for exporting products from Ukrainian defense enterprises are currently being considered. However, a final decision has not yet been made.
This is reported by Business • Media
Fomenko expressed hope that a decision may be announced as early as May, as this issue is becoming extremely critical for the defense industry (DI), which is currently operating at approximately 40% capacity. The export issue has been discussed at various levels for over a year, and everyone is aware of the necessity to make an appropriate decision.
Conditions for Exporting DI Products
Among the main conditions for export that have been voiced, the following can be highlighted:
- The export of products that are not in demand by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or products that do not meet the tactical and technical requirements of the Armed Forces. Alternatively, a lack of financial resources to purchase weapons and military equipment.
- Exported weapons must not fall into the hands of the enemy or countries that support them.
- A list of countries to which export will be permitted must be compiled.
- A list of weapons prohibited for export during wartime must be determined to avoid negatively impacting the defense capabilities of the state.
