Support in Energy and Demining
In addition to financial and military aid, Finland has provided Ukraine with essential energy equipment: transformers, generators, and electric motors. The country has also contributed €8 million to humanitarian demining programs, which is particularly important for restoring safety in Ukrainian territories.
“Finland has also provided Ukraine with energy equipment, transformers, generators, electric motors, and made a contribution of €8 million to Ukraine’s humanitarian demining. Shmyhal expressed gratitude for the 28 packages of defense assistance already provided and for the consistency in the sanctions policy.”
Innovative Cooperation and Development of Strategic Sectors
Shmyhal emphasized the potential of the defense-innovation cluster BRAVE1, which specializes in the production of unmanned systems. This platform could become promising for joint Ukrainian-Finnish projects, particularly within the framework of the new European credit instrument SAFE, with a total budget of €150 billion.
During the meeting, Kyiv and Helsinki signed a number of bilateral agreements that open new opportunities for expanding cooperation in the energy, education, and security sectors. In particular, the parties agreed to work together in ammunition production, the development of the defense-industrial complex, and the establishment of a decentralized and ecological energy system.
