According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen, after signing the agreement, Trump intended to reach out to Russia with a message of support for Ukraine in the economic sphere, hoping that this would prompt Moscow to come to the negotiating table. The Secretary noted that the implementation of this plan was thwarted, but he is confident that the situation can still be changed.

“predatory contract”
. This week, Ukraine will send a team of negotiators to Washington to finalize a new draft agreement.
Negotiations on a New Agreement
As noted by Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko:
“What we have now is a document that reflects the position of the legal group of the U.S. Treasury. This is not the final version, it is not a joint position”
. Therefore, according to her, Ukraine intends to define its red lines and the key principles on which the agreement should be based.
“We are focused on ensuring that the final text of the agreement after negotiations fully aligns with our strategic interests. Both teams are capable of achieving these goals and agreeing on terms acceptable to both sides”
