Also participating in the negotiations will be Lyudmyla Suhak, Deputy Minister of Justice for Eurointegration, and Mykola Kolisnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy. Ukraine is being assisted by the law firm Hogan Lovells, which represents the interests of the state-owned PrivatBank in the High Court of London.
According to Zelensky, this will be the first meeting of the technical teams, aimed at developing the main principles of the agreement. One of the conditions that the Ukrainian delegation will advocate for is parity in managing the fund.
Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for Eurointegration, noted that the subject of negotiations cannot undermine Ukraine’s existing commitments, particularly financial ones, under the macro-financial assistance programs from the EU and the IMF.
Furthermore, President Zelensky emphasized that Russia is also negotiating with the USA regarding resource development, and the agreement may involve the partial lifting of sanctions on several Russian oligarchs. Ukraine seeks to prevent this.
