In 2025, the import of used passenger cars significantly increased in Ukraine. By the end of the year, over 77% of all passenger cars that replenished the Ukrainian vehicle fleet were used cars imported from abroad. In total, throughout the year, Ukrainians purchased 274,300 such cars, which is 24% more than the previous year’s figure. The average age of the imported cars was 8.4 years.

Structure of the Used Car Market
The largest share among used passenger cars imported to Ukraine in 2025 was traditionally occupied by gasoline cars – 43%. In second place were electric vehicles, whose share reached 31%. Diesel cars accounted for 18% of the total, hybrid cars for 5%, and vehicles with gas equipment for 3%.
Growing Popularity of Hybrids and Electric Vehicles
Throughout the year, Ukrainians purchased 31,200 hybrid passenger cars, which is 31% more than in 2024. In this number, the share of new cars remained at 57%, the same as the previous year.
The electric vehicle market in Ukraine is also showing steady growth. In 2025, over 35,000 transactions for the purchase and sale of electric cars were made in the domestic market – this is 38% more than in 2024. December was particularly active: during that month, 4,281 transactions were made, which is 54% more than in November and 313% more compared to December of the previous year. Tesla remains the leader in the electric vehicle market in Ukraine.
