Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated during a meeting with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright that the country is actively investing in gas infrastructure and importing American liquefied natural gas (LNG). According to Tusk, Poland aims to make itself and Europe independent from Russian gas, and through cooperation with the US, there is an opportunity to supply gas to Ukraine.

Cooperation in Nuclear Energy and New Projects
During the meeting, the politicians also discussed the development of nuclear energy. Tusk noted that cooperation with the new American administration has received a “new impetus,” and a “new and better agreement” has been signed regarding the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland using modern technologies. He stated that partnership in this area is developing “better than ever before,” and the parties do not intend to rest on their laurels.
Long-term Investments and Expanded Cooperation
Secretary Wright emphasized that the US is establishing long-term cooperation with Poland, which will be based on investment partnerships that will anticipate current needs for many years to come. He added that the US plans to build even more nuclear power plants not only in Poland but also in other countries in Europe.
