New Quotas for Ukrainian Exporters

According to the agreement, Ukrainian producers have significantly increased quotas for the export of certain agricultural products to EU countries. Compared to 2021, the volumes have grown for the following products:

  1. Honey – from 6,000 to 35,000 tons.
  2. Sugar – from 20,000 to 100,000 tons.
  3. Skimmed milk powder – from 5,000 to 15,400 tons.
  4. Eggs – from 6,000 to 18,000 tons.
  5. Poultry meat – from 90,000 to 120,000 tons.

At the same time, Ukraine has also agreed to increase quotas for European products, including pork (from 20,000 to 45,000 tons), poultry meat (from 20,000 to 120,000 tons), and sugar (from 40,000 to 100,000 tons). The next review of quotas is scheduled for 2028.

Integration and Protection of Domestic Markets

The agreement includes provisions for mutually beneficial trade liberalization, taking into account the sensitivity of certain agricultural sectors in the EU. It provides for the implementation of reliable protective mechanisms that will prevent excessive imports from both sides. Additionally, the EU will support Ukrainian exporters in accessing third-country markets, creating new opportunities for the development of the national business.

“The new agreement will ensure additional, mutually beneficial trade liberalization, while fully considering the sensitivity of certain agricultural sectors in the EU.”

Overall, these changes open a new stage in the development of economic partnership between Ukraine and EU countries, contributing to sustainable growth and modernization of the Ukrainian economy.
