Preparation for Entry into International Markets
At the beginning of 2026, a major investment forum is planned to be held in one of the European countries. During the event, new cooperation mechanisms in the defense industry will be presented to partners. Currently, preparations are underway for the infrastructure that will allow the export of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment to begin.
Export Strategy and Support for Companies
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, notes that the defense export market is characterized by inertia, so the signing of the first significant export contracts is not expected until the second half of 2026. This is due to the need to undergo testing, certification, and procurement procedures from foreign partners.
“The first offices to support exports will open in Denmark and Germany, followed by the USA and Global South countries.”
Entry into the international market will be possible for all manufacturers of defense products; however, of more than a thousand Ukrainian companies, currently less than half are ready to undergo all technical procedures. Kamyshin emphasizes that increasing production capacities and controlled exports will provide additional funding for the country’s military needs.
