On June 26, Australia imposed additional sanctions against citizens and companies of the Russian Federation. The updated list includes 37 individuals and seven organizations. Among those sanctioned is the Russian singer Yaroslav Dronov, known by the stage name Shaman, as well as representatives from the management of several Russian companies.

Lithuania Expands Economic Pressure Options
Members of the Lithuanian Seimas have made a final decision allowing the country’s government to implement national economic sanctions against Russia and Belarus. According to the new law, the assets of individuals and companies that are sanctioned can be frozen, and sectoral restrictions are also introduced. These measures include a ban on the import of technologies, services, and software from Russia and Belarus, as well as the export of relevant products for the needs of the armed forces of these countries.
Germany’s Position and Controversies in the EU
The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, emphasized the need to strengthen economic pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine. He called on the United States to join the new sanctions already imposed by the European Union.
“Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz stated that to end the war in Ukraine, it is necessary to increase economic pressure on Moscow, thus he urged the United States to impose new sanctions following the European Union.”
At the same time, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, expressed disagreement with the new EU sanctions package. He noted that Slovakia would demand to postpone the consideration of this issue until the problem of gas supply after 2027 is resolved.
