Ukraine repaired a record 13.9 million square meters of state roads in 2026

Україна різко наростила темпи ремонту державних доріг - за п'ять місяців відновили майже 14 млн кв. м покриття

The main phase of planned repair works on state roads in Ukraine has been completed. Since the beginning of 2026, road services have restored approximately 13.9 million square meters of road surface, marking the highest figure since the start of the full-scale war.

This is reported by Business • Media

“Compared to previous years, the volume of work completed has increased significantly. If in 2025, during the same period, 1.7 million square meters were repaired, this year that figure has exceeded it by more than eight times.”

Priority — strategic transport routes

The main repair works were carried out on key highways that ensure interregional connectivity, support the functioning of logistics chains, and provide access to borders with European Union countries. The largest volumes of restoration were recorded on the following roads:

  • Kyiv — Chop (M-06);
  • Kyiv — Odesa (M-05);
  • Odesa — Melitopol — Novoazovsk (M-14);
  • Kharkiv — Dnipro (M-29);
  • Vystupovychi — Zhytomyr — Mohyliv-Podilskyi (M-21).

Road infrastructure as the foundation of the economy and security

The government emphasizes that proper maintenance of the transport network remains one of the main tasks during the wartime period. The condition of the roads affects the effectiveness of military logistics, the transportation of humanitarian aid, business operations, and export flows. Despite the completion of the main repair campaign, work on updating the road infrastructure will continue in certain areas throughout the year.

For residents of the capital, a new service has been introduced in the “Kyiv Digital” application — “Map of Repairs and Closures,” which allows users to quickly receive information about current traffic restrictions in the city and plan their trips.
