The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the special support program for such hospitals until December 31, 2026, which will ensure the resilience of the healthcare system in dangerous regions.

“In the second half of the year, hospitals will receive additional resources each month to form their payroll fund. This decision aims to help medical institutions retain staff and ensure continuous assistance amid ongoing risks and pressures.”
Additional Support for Medical Workers in Frontline Regions
In addition to extending the main program, the state is implementing additional financial support mechanisms for the healthcare sector in frontline communities. In particular, primary healthcare facilities are receiving increased payments for patient declarations, and emergency medical services are being provided with additional funds for effective responses to emergencies and urgent care.
Support for the Medical System — A Priority of State Policy
The government emphasizes that stable access to quality medical care in communities located near the front line is a matter of security and survival for the local population. Therefore, support for medical workers and medical institutions in such regions remains a key direction of state policy.
It is worth noting that in May 2026, the state funding system for medical institutions in Ukraine continued to operate stably. The National Health Service of Ukraine transferred over 16.1 billion hryvnias for provided medical services and reimbursement of medicines under the “Affordable Medicines” program.
