In the domestic market of Ukraine, a significant decrease in prices for new harvest white cabbage has been recorded. As of June 2026, most producers are selling early cabbage at prices ranging from 11 to 18 UAH per kilogram.

Price Dynamics and Factors of Decrease
According to industry experts, young white cabbage has decreased in price by an average of 22% over the past week. Compared to the same period in early June 2025, today’s price is 16% lower. Experts attribute this decrease primarily to improved weather conditions after prolonged rains. Thanks to the stabilization of the weather, farmers were able to accelerate the harvest, leading to an increase in supply volumes in the market.
“The quality of the harvested cabbage from the 2026 crop does not always meet the expectations of the end consumer, so producers are forced to lower prices to stimulate sales.”
Trends in the Vegetable Market of Ukraine
The decrease in cabbage prices has been observed since the beginning of the season. At the end of April, the first batches of young cabbage entered the market at prices of 30–38 UAH/kg, which was on average 39% cheaper than at the start of the 2025 season. Experts explained this price dynamic at that time by stable demand and competition with imported products. Additionally, due to the cold and prolonged spring, this year’s open-field vegetable harvest began two weeks later than usual.
It is also noted that representatives of the Ukrainian greenhouse industry have called for the cancellation of tariffs on vegetables from Turkey.
